What’s In The Bag: Ashleigh Buhai

Winner of the 2022 AIG Women's Open

Who? 33 year-old South African Ashleigh Buhai.

What? The 2022 AIG Women’s Open, her first major victory.

Where? Muirfield, Gullane, Scotland.

How? Buhai recovered from losing a five-stroke lead on the final day to win her first major title, after defeating In Gee Chun on the fourth playoff hole at Muirfield. The South African looked in control until a triple-bogey on the 14th looked to derail her winning chances, but she managed to bounce back with three tough closing pars to play her way into a playoff. A brilliant par save on the fourth extra hole then gave her the victory.
