Skechers is an American footwear company founded by CEO Robert Greenberg and his son Michael in 1992 after Robert had sold his original company LA Gear.
Originally a lifestyle shoe they founded a Performance Division in 2011 that focussed on Go Run and Go Walk to tap into the athletics market. Following success with these shoes, including a win in the Boston Marathon for Skechers athlete Meb Keflezighi, a move into golf seemed a natural fit.
To move into golf Skechers teamed up with PGA Tour star Matt Kuchar in 2014 and since then have produced a range of shoes including the Go Golf Pro, Go Golf Tour and Go Golf Elite. As the brand in golf continues to grow they've signed up Colin Montgomerie and the LPGA's Belen Mozo as Global Ambassadors.
