The R7 SuperQuad driver is TaylorMade's moveable weight driver with 4 weight plugs at 460cc. Previously they only had 4 weights at 420cc or the R5 Dual TP with 2 weights at 460cc, so this is the maximum they can do and it certainly slots very well into their range.

We liked the all black head finish which gave it sinister look, although some may not like the face and crown being the same colour for alignment.

Performance wise it was very good and moving the weights around did affect the trajectory. The TaylorMade SuperQuad has a bigger difference between the weights (12 and 1 gram) so the trajectory changes are more obvious than with the R7 Quad.

The shaft in the standard SuperQuad model is OK, but if you have the cash then go for the TP version, which also has a more square alignment then this slightly closed version.

As well as questioning its value for money, we have to mark it down for the noise at impact. It seems to be a trend now, but the crash sound at impact doesn't do it for us, especially when other TaylorMade drivers give a much better sound and feel.

Taylormade R7 Superquad TP. Wow what a Club ! I Bought one Used on a website with the Re-ax 65 Tour Prefered Shaft. Iwould be surprised to find even a newer driver thet felt and performed better im a Small Guy playing an XStiff Shaft and weighting it for a Low Ball Flight it Does exactly what it says it will do i changed the setting for Hight flight it went a mile in the air , Im a little confused however with tje settings for fade or draw , you see i am used to using swing path and face munipulation to get a draw and or fade, this club seems to draw it and / or fade so sevearly it puys you in the Trees could someone explain to me why the dreaw and fade are so dramatic? Do you posture your setup like your hitting it straight to get slight draws or fades? I love to shape my shots , im normally a conservative and try to use straight flight and play ball placement but i started to learn to Draw and Fade and have realized these are very fun and usefull shots to play but i just dont understand how to allow this Club to draw or fade for me...Please Help Great Club though

I bought the TaylorMade r7 SuperQuad driver in July having used a Srixon for some time and I have to say it is the best investment I have made in a golf club. Consistency was a major problem and this club has given me the consistency, accuracy and length I was looking for. My handicap has reduced from 10 to 8 since I have had it and that is probably down to confidence. I feel I can now stand on the tee and rip it with out worrying where the ball will end up. Great club!!

The TaylorMade R7 SuperQuad driver performed well, but I just did not like the all over back look, including the face. It was solid through impact and gave the ball a good penetrating flight, but it did not do anything else my current driver can't do. Performs better than it looks.

I waited for months for the TaylorMade R7 SuperQuad, and then I got a call that the pro just received a 9.5 stiff. So I raced to check it out and it was worth the wait just to hold it and when it hit the range all the other golfers wanted a go. No way as the face marks very easily with pap balls and in a few months will start to look tatty. The shaft seems a bit dull but usable I’m hitting it a mile and consistent so I’m giving it an a-.

I’ve had the TaylorMade R7 SuperQuad driver 2 weeks now and all I can say is....WOW!!! This driver does exactly what it says on the tin. I have had 3 rounds with it so far and it will pretty much do anything you ask it to. I can fade it, keep it straight or even get the Holy Grail...draw it. Of course this is all dependant on my swing consistency but having said this; you have to do something drastically wrong to at least hit it straight. Distance is also another bonus. I drove a par 4 in one the other day for the 1st time using the R7 SuperQuad and that wasn’t even using a decent distance ball. I have the TaylorMade XD irons too which are also very good, so with this driver I hope to see me take a few shots off my handicap. In summary, great sound, great accuracy, great distance, great workability....BLOOMIN GREAT DRIVER!! You have done it again TaylorMade...keep up the excellent work. 10/10.
