The Nike One Black ball is a great low spin alternative.

In our test rounds, it's low spin rate gave it a great trajectory into the wind and stayed very straight too. The feel of the ball was good and was medium soft, so it was good for all clubs.

It is firmer than the Nike One Gold, so if you like a soft feeling ball around the greens then that is the one to go for.

Distance wise it was up there with the rest of them but not outstanding.

The cover lasted pretty well overall and unless you have some very sharp grooves the ball should do several rounds before needing to be changed.

User Reviews

February 2005

I was used to the high spinning Pro V1 so the low spinning Nike One Black golf ball gave me a much better trajactory into the wind. It was also very stable in the wind too. Around the greens I found it a little firm for my liking and on hard summer greens I can imagine it would be hard to stop. Managed to scuff it early on in the round which was not promising, but thereafter it lasted pretty well. Didn't lose any distance to the Titleist, but did not gain much either.
