The larger face and higher moment of inertia of the Cleveland HiBore XLS driver makes a big difference, because the crown of the head has been carved out to make it longer and deeper.

Not only does this increase the forgiveness, but it also makes it much easier to align the club at address. In this position the HiBore XLS driver does look very good and at impact it gave a powerful strike and solid sound.

In our tests, the forgiveness across the face was very good and the trajectory was strong too. We prefer the Tour version, but Cleveland tour players David Howell and Vijay Singh are both using the standard head Cleveland HiBore XLS driver in 9.5 loft to get that little extra carry and less roll because that suits the regular tour courses more, so the choice is yours!

Been using mine 6 years now and I've never felt the need to change. Everyone on the range knows you've 'got hold of one' with this baby. The sonic PING it generates is awesome!

The Cleveland HiBore XLS is a super club. At address the club looks great and gives confidence, additionally the powerful sound it makes upon impact is sure to turn a few heads! The Full Face Performance Technology seems to work, miss-hits appear to fly straighter and longer. However on the negative side, my XLS appears to have lost paint off the bottom of the club.

The Cleveland HiBore XLS driver is the best HiBore yet by a long way. Although they head has that big chunk out of the back, you don’t really notice it after a while. It’s a lot less off putting that the original or maybe it is just that we are all getting use to these unconventional shape drivers. The noise at impact is like a big bang and the ball feels that it has just been shot from a cannon. Great penetrating flight and the ball zooms out there. Very impressed.
