It is a well known fact in golf that the lighter the club, the faster a golfer can swing that club, producing more swing speed, thus more distance. That is the philosophy behind Wilson's new D-100 Superlight range.

The Wilson D-100 driver combines a lightweight club head, shaft and grip to produce a Superlight driver that weighs just 269 grams, up to 50g lighter than older, traditional drivers. Wilson claim the lightweight design could add up to 15 yards on a players drives.

"You can make clubs that are too lightweight," said Wilson's Michael Vrska, "But extensive research has shown that the Right Light technology can help the game improvement player expend the same amount of effort and get faster clubhead speeds to generate seriously long distance."

The D-100 driver benefits from a redesigned Enhanced Cup Face Design. With a 9% hotter CT (Characteristic Time), the D-100 is designed to produce greater distance and speed.

Also added to the new face is Wilson's Variable Face Thickness Technology. This technology creates different thicknesses across the large, deep clubface to create a strong sweet spot, whilst also providing more forgiveness on off-centre hits.

The crown of the Wilson D-100 Driver has been Chemically-Etched to relocate weight to the sole of the club providing a lower, deeper centre of gravity. This new CG heightens the launch angle and increases MOI (Moment of Inertia) for more forgiveness and more fairways.

The D-100 driver is paired with a Matrix OZIK HD4.1 graphite shaft. The premium shaft is engineered to produce a mid-to-high launch and mid-spin.
