The TaylorMade PENTA TP5 ball is an advancement on the first five-layer ball in golf, the original PENTA TP.

Each area of a golfer's game is addressed within the PENTA TP5. The five-layer construction - core, inner mantle, middle mantle, outer mantle and cover - is engineered to improve the performance of a golfer's drives, long-irons, middle-irons, short-irons and partial wedges.

The core of the PENTA TP5 is surrounded by a fast, soft inner mantle that promotes soft feel, low spin and high launch, specifically designed to provide exceptional distance and high, soft-landing shots on long-irons. The middle mantle of the ball is semi-firm and promotes the mid-launch, mid-spin charactistics specific to mid-irons, promoting control and preventing shots from ballooning and finishing short of the target. Lastly, under the cover of the PENTA TP5 is the fastest mantle in the ball, the outer mantle. This layer is easily compressed by slow swing speeds (below 120mph), helping those players gain more distance.

TaylorMade have increased the overall performance within the PENTA TP5 thanks a 28% lower core compression that is combined with a unique Progressive Velocity Design. This combination results in lower driver spin and an improved softer feel. The Tour proven urethane cover has been tried and tested by TaylorMade's Tour Staff.

"The PENTA TP5 was created for our Tour pros, yet it's a great ball for every level of player,” said John Kawaja, TaylorMade Executive Vice President. “You don't need to have a fast swing speed to achieve excellent distance with the PENTA TP5. Golfers will also benefit from the same high greenside spin they have become accustomed to with the original PENTA TP.”
