When we've met up with Skechers VP Rick Higgins in the past we've always been impressed by the focus on R&D.

Inspired by its market-leading running and lifestyle divisions, Skechers, the No.2 footwear brand in the US, continually strives to increase performance and out of the box comfort.

Nowhere can this be seen more keenly than in golf, where the 2017 Go Golf Collection harnesses award winning performance technologies in five new men's and two new women's styles.

Skechers 2017 Go Golf Performance Shoes

Centred around newly improved technologies, such as 5-Gen, a new next generation highly responsive cushioning foam used in the sole, the 2017 shoes represent a diverse range that meets the demands of the modern golfer.

The shoes also use Resalyte and Resamax Cushioning, Resagrip outsoles, Goga Matrix cushioned outsole design and Goga Max technology insoles to ensure maximum comfort on the course. Goga is a play on the word yoga as Skechers say the technology gives you the comfort of a yoga mat in the bottom of your shoes.

Agion anti-microbial protection means both your feet and the shoes stay fresh whilst styles that demand complete performance whatever the weather keep rain out with the waterproof H2GO shield and let perspiration escape with Dri-Lex moisture management.

Skechers Go Golf Pro 2 and Pro 2 LX

The Go Golf Pro 2 and Pro 2-LX shoe are Skechers' most advanced golf shoe, using the 5-Gen cushioning foam in the sole and H2GO waterproof protection on the upper. A classic golf shoe design, the shoes feature a dynamic traction plate for maximum grip whilst the low profile, quick release outsole gives the stability to play any shot you face on the course.

Skechers 2017 Go Golf Performance Shoes

The Go Golf Pro 2 has an RRP of £129 and comes in either Black Leather & Blue Trim / Charcoal Leather & Navy Trim or White and Grey Leather & Blue Trim with the LX (RRP £142) available in Charcoal Leather & Black Trim / Grey Leather & Grey Trim.

Skechers Go Golf Elite 2

The Go Golf Elite 2 builds on the impressive Go Golf Elite shoe we reviewed last year.

The Elite 2 combines Skechers' premium Go Golf Pro 2 upper, fully waterproof thanks to H2GO Shield Technology, with a spikeless, comfort traction outsole. This uses a durable TPU bottom plate and proprietary GOimpulse Sensors to give multi-directional traction control on any surface. Comfort and stability come from the incorporation of 5-Gen performance foam.

Skechers 2017 Go Golf Performance Shoes

The Go Golf Elite 2 has an RRP of £102 and comes in Black Leather & Blue Trim / Grey Leather & Blue Trim / Navy Leather & Red Trim / White and Grey Leather & Blue Trim / Black Leather & Black Trim.

Skechers Go Golf Focus / Focus Collegiate

The Go Golf Focus shoes are new additions to the Go Golf collection and are aimed at golfers looking for a sleek and lightweight shoe without sacrificing stability, grip and protection.

Skechers 2017 Go Golf Performance Shoes

Fully waterproof thanks to H2GO Shield Technology the Focus features a durable grip TPU bottom plate and its low profile gives maximum traction and stability in conjunction with replaceable SoftSpikes. 5-Gen cushioning, developed in Skechers running shoes, provides comfort and a Dynamic Upper Fit that helps to anchor the foot during the swing.

The Go Golf Focus is available in White and Black Synthetic & Red Trim whilst the Collegiate version comes in White and Black Synthetic & Black Trim / White and Blue Synthetic & Blue Trim. Both shoes have an RRP of £139.

Skechers Go Golf Drive 2 and Drive 2 LX

The Go Golf Drive 2 is a casual lace up shoe that uses lightweight athletic materials, the Goga Mat insole and a Resalyte midsole insert for total comfort. A durable spikeless rubber traction plate provides on course grip with the foot kept comfortable by a breathable wicking lining.

Skechers 2017 Go Golf Performance Shoes

The LX model incorporates both H2GO Shield Technology and 5-Gen cushioning foam to help secure the foot and add stability to the swing.

The Go Golf Drive 2 is available in White Synthetic & Navy Trim and the LX model in Black Leather & White Trim / Charcoal Leather & Navy Trim / Chocolate Leather & Chocolate Trim. Both shoes have an RRP of £79.

Skechers Go Golf Fairway

The Go Golf Fairway is a lightweight run-inspired shoe that brings together Skechers' cushioning technologies - Gogo Mat insole, Goga Matrix cushioned outsole and 5-Gen cushioning foam - in a comfortable modern shoe.

Skechers 2017 Go Golf Performance Shoes

The Go Golf Fairway has an RRP of £77 and is available in Black Leather Textile & White Trim, White Leather and Black Textile & Red Trim.

Skechers Go Golf 2017 Women's Collection

The 2017 range for Women centres around the technology in the Go Golf Birdie golf shoe, using technologies and materials developed for the extremely popular GoWalk range. The shoes are lightweight and comfortable thanks to responsive 5-Gen foam, the Goga Max insole and the cushioned Goga Matrix outsole.

Skechers 2017 Go Golf Performance Shoes

The Birdie is a spikeless shoe and is available in the classic Birdie (RRP £77), the Birdie Tropic with floral print details (RRP £77) and the premium classic design of the Birdie Tour (RRP £92).
