The Ecco Cage was an eye-catching addition to the Danish shoemaker's range thanks to the DIP stability cage wrapped around the heel.

For 2017 Ecco is taking this a step further by integrating a striking Spydr-Grip outsole on the new Ecco Cage Pro to produce a spikeless golf shoe that provides outstanding grip and performance.

The Spydr-Grip is less aggressive on the green as well as providing outstanding grip in all conditions.

Ejnar Truelsen, Chief Designer Ecco Concept Lab, explained the sole design:

Engineered for optimal traction at the foot's natural pivot points, the Ecco Spydr-Grip outsole incorporates an organic design that is easy on the green and minimises clogging of dirt in the sole.

Ecco says the anatomical design aligns and moves in unison with the foot's essential ligaments and muscles which is an area of shoe design becoming increasingly common, with FootJoy's HyperFlex II also being modelled on these principles.

The rest of the Ecco Cage Pro mirrors the Cage with a Hydromax treated upper, made from soft, resistant Fritton leather and the one-piece DIP stability cage that wraps from the heel through the midsole and across the toe box.
