Cobra has completed their Fly-Z line up of golf clubs for 2015 with the introduction of the the Fly-Z Pro and Fly-Z + Forged irons.

Aimed at better players looking for superior feel, workability, precision and performance the Cobra R&D team feel they have created two sets of irons that combine modern technology with the traditional look and feel that they say better players demand.

Cobra Fly-Z Pro Irons

The Fly-Z Pro irons have been designed to meet the specific demands of Cobra's Tour ambassadors. These players want to shape and develop shots with their irons and the precision forging and tour trajectories of the Fly-Z Pro's gives them the scope to do that.

Cobra Fly-Z Pro Irons

The forging of the Fly-Z Pro's is a five step process and delivers a soft yet solid feel at impact for confidence and consistency.

The Tour-inspired iron has the compact footprint you would expect from this category of club with the thinner topline and sole widths meeting the eye and performance demands of the top players. Minimal offset ensures that players can work the ball in every direction.

Cobra Fly-Z Pro Irons

So far so classic, but make no mistake the Fly-Z Pro's pack Cobra's latest innovations to maximise the performance of the irons.

A tungsten toe weight helps to centralise the centre of gravity low and directly behind the desired impact position to give greater precision and increased control of the powerful trajectories.

This control is further enhanced by the CNC milled faces and grooves that maximise spin and give players the ability to generate a wide range of shot shapes.

The final design aspect is what Cobra calls the Flow Set with the design of the clubhead progressing through the bag. The longer irons, from 3-6, are dual cavity, transitioning to a single cavity in the 7 and 8 irons:

The Fly-Z Pro irons come with a True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shaft and a Golf Pride New Decade Multi Compound Cord grip as standard and will retail at £749 for an 8-piece set.

Cobra Fly-Z + Forged Irons

The Fly-Z + Forged irons take Cobra's forging further with a six-step process delivering the softest of feels but with a higher level of forgiveness.

Tungsten inserts have been inserted in the heel and toe of the clubs from the 3-iron to 8-iron to increase MOI and help to deliver consistency and accuracy through the set.

Feel has also been enhanced in the longer irons (3-iron to 7-iron) with the inclusion of a TPU insert to dampen vibrations. This insert replaces the weight that has been moved to the heel and toe, to increase playability.

The Cobra Fly-Z + Forged irons are fitted with a KBS Tour Shaft and Lamkin 3GEN Crossline grips as standard and will retail at £699 for an 8-piece set.
